How does playing ME 1 improve ME 2? I didn't play ME 1, and the only minus point I can think of in ME 2 is the repetitiveness of recruiting and loyalty missions. Would they have gone away if I played ME 1 first ?

I don't think any other developer will work THIS hard to ensure parity between platforms even when ME 1 is exclusive to MS.

When it comes to solely ME 2, PS3 version is the GOTY version along with a comic book which is available on all the platforms. Why do you think Bioware released it on all platforms? People don't have time to play two games to enjoy a series all the time, you guys forget that you had 3 years time to play ME 1, if someone is interested in ME3 right now, he can at the most buy ME 2. For them the comic book works wonders.

Its like telling someone to buy all the Halos before Halo 3 to enjoy its story. Its not possible.

The games stand alone and people can play them each without playing the others. If they enjoy it enough, they can go back and play the other iterations of games. The option is there. Plenty of people play the same game multiple times if they enjoy it. Different decisions give different outcomes and gives the game replay value.

Recuriting and loyalty missions are one of the main features of the game, as well as the decisions that you make throughout the game. These are part of the things that make the series so good. I don't know how much you will enjoy the game if you think some of those things are negatives.
