I guess I'm reading too much into things but I detect a sense of "Sour Grapes" when it comes to Mass Effect 1. I'll drag Uncharted into this just to illustrate a point. We have a game that was universally praised by critics and gamers alike. we had a sequel that improved on the original in every way. Now, while the stories in U1 and U2 aren't as closely tied together as the stories of ME1 and ME2, wouldn't you agree that the two compliment each other very well?
Now I'd rrecommend U2 to any gamer that can hold a controller. I'd recommend that they play U1 first if it was possible. If they couldn't play U1 for some reason, I WOULD NOT pretend that U1 was such a terrible game that it's not worth playing or that it's better not to play it at all.
With all of that said, I ask this: Play Mass Effect 2. I think it's one of the best gaming experiences of the year. Don't hate on Mass Effect 1. It's a great game, too.
