IDK the PC version got some bad press for it's control scheme etc on PC, and didn't really review that well TBH and it wasn't exclusive I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't sell that much better...

I never heard of problems with the control scheme on PC. Also, didn't the PC version actually score better than the Xbox 360 version, despite coming out later?

I know the PC version was very polished, with virtually no bugs, and very well optimized.

The Last Remnant's biggest strength was that it was a JRPG, and the only JRPG from a big publisher. It already had a few sales on Steam which seemed to have been very successful, and Square Enix increasing it's support of Steam tells me that they were pleased with how TLR turned out (TLR was their first steamworks game)
