I decided I want to be part of this discussion So, it's funny, that's the first time I see someone seriously claiming that Sony milks something (and kills it by doing so). Hell, Sony creates many new IPs every gen instead of doing another game of the same franchise again and again and again, or using their main mascot in billions of games. If you look at Nintendo with Mario: that's what I call milking. I like these games, but it's still milking... |
In Mario's case.... they were the reason i never bought a new Nintendo console (have a Gamecube and N64 bought for dirty cheap and with a lot of games)... I could never understand someone willing to by "Mario goes shopping", "Mario's beuty center" and other silly titles that use Mario to sell... every gen they release a new mario franchise that keep up with sequels... Mario Soccer, Mario Baseball, Mario Kart...
It almost looks like if a Nintendo game don't have a Mario in it a flop is expected (now they can put a Wii in title and be sucessfull)...
