I mean, I appreciate that you're rebuffing every logical argument with smilies and coy jokes instead of being rude and outspoken about it, but the fact is you're wrong. Alcoholism isn't based on an individual's opinion--it's a disease, and to not treat it as such is to do a massive disservice to all the people who legitimately have a problem.

You're doing the equivalent of calling a pimple skin cancer, justifying it by saying that's just because you "have different standards for cancer", and then making jokes when we attempt to explain things sensibly.

I honestly do not understand how you can be so resolutely judgmental when you seem almost entirely uninformed on the subject of alcohol--let alone having actually experienced drinking.

Ok, ok, you keep on drinking, I'll keep on not drinking. You keep on telling people to drink, I'll keep on telling people the opposite. Satisfied?

Okay, once again. I'm not telling you, or anybody, to drink. Earlier in the thread I actually praised the OP for making a healthy lifestyle choice.

See, this thread was launched in attack of drinking. All I'm doing is making a logical counterargument for why people drink, attempting to introduce some unbiased facts, and just all around contribute to a reasonable discussion. Not once have I, nor do I, encourage people to do something they aren't comfortable with. I do not care if you drink or if you don't drink.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.
