How many people do any of you gun owners know, or have heard about in the news, that have successfully stopped some big baddie in some Max Payne slow motion gun fight where they come out victorious, and they guy who was trying to steal their TV was left with 14 bullets in his body ? thats right, none.
I cant believe any of the kids on here actually do believe that is how it works in the real world.
I have to admit, the US is too far gone, and has let this deep seeded problem go on for far too long for anyone to do anything about it.
In Australia, this guy in Port Arthur Tasmania opened up on a restraunt like 15 years ago or something, when we still had slightly relaxed gun laws. The government came down on the issue hard, and banned firearms for personal use, and offered a monetary rebate for all current firearms to be handed in and destroyed.
Now we have next to no gun murders, and certainly no mass murders.
You know those kids that open up in shopping centers and schools ?
that so wouldn't happen if they were flailing some piss-ant knife up in the air, now would it ?
Do you think those people that died needlessly whilst they were studying for their 2nd semester exams, or shopping for an anniversary present for their loved ones, think that the gun laws are A-OK ?
I remember reading there was a stat that a gun in a household was much more likely to harm or kill a family member or loved one, than an intruder.
and the list goes on.
So to answer the first question. Yes, in America it IS normal. doesn't mean it isn't the most f**king stupid thing ever. Just like lots of things that are to do with America Wars, General Population, Current Political Figures.
But oh well, the world keeps on spinning.
