Yikes! Either MHP3G is doing to 3DS instead or Capcom's threatening to take it there to force Sony to pay out big... either way, it doesn't exactly look great for Sony. I still think PSP2 could eventually get MHP4 (especially if MH4 is a Wii 2 game), but if P3G takes off on 3DS, then they might just stick with it for the generation. Despite what some are saying, it really isn't in MH's best interest to go multi, all that would do is split the base and for a game who's success is rooted in local community multiplayer, that's going to just impede growth. What would actually be better is if they went with one hardware maker for both handheld and home console, and then implemented cross-platform play and releases (ie: 3DS/Wii or PSP2/PS3).
Honestly, I kinda figured it was just a matter of time until MH made it's way to 3DS (next up Basara and Dead Rising!), but even I didn't expect Capcom reps to start laying hints this early. MHP3 hasn't even been on shelves full month! :/
If P3G is going 3DS too, I think this means P3 might stay Japan only. Capcom USA/Europe has been dead silent on PSP, it's looking like both Last Ranker and MonHun Felyne Villiage are both staying in Japan, and now I think MHP3 is joining them... weird when Square Enix is still bringing over everything, and even niche companies like Atlus and Xseed are still supporting the system in the west.
