Well a lot of good characters this year. Travis Touchdown and Sylvia from No More Heroes 2 were excellent just like in the first game. I enjoyed the Assassin from Mass Effect 2 as well. Kaine from Nier was an interesting character as well haha. Loved Noble Team from Reach, but Jorge took the crown out of them. Ezio from Brotherhood was epic and still enjoyed Starkiller from Force Unleashed 2. Then of course my cute but devastating Kirby was great
But all of them are taking a back seat to John Marston from Red Dead Redemption. It has been awhile since I have played as a character that was so well developed in both speech and personality. I mean the game as a whole story wise and atmosphere was one of the best ever, but how they were able to take this character, make him seem real, and craft all these other themes around him was incredible.
Just goes back to how much of a masterpiece Red Dead Redemption was. Took a character who was looking for a way to get to his family while the government uses him in an attempt to "civilize" the west. Was orchestrated with great characterization, great story progression, and intertwining themes that made it all come together. Just a good job Rockstar.
