Has Ps3 exclusives set the bar for multiplatform games

Halo set the bar for multiplatform shooters and what is seen to be the "perfect control scheme" outside of a PC. last gen.

Gears and Uncharted both set a similar standard for third person shooters.

I was talking about graphics really, it seems most developers still shoot for cost effectiveness in their design and Gears of War is the most cost effective current generation game.

Gears of War? I wouldn't put it on TOP, definitely in the top 10, mainly because Epic owns the Unreal Engine 3. But I have no doubt in my mind a game like CALL OF DUTY, any of them is a complete BARGAIN and the most cost-effective you can get this generation. I mean, they spout a game every year, they are all bascially the same, they use the same engine, lots of the same assets, same secondary voice actors, they don't optimize their engine that much. Graphics and animations still looking as cardboard crap as ever....and then they sell millions upon millions, collector's edition, super special editions, overpriced DLC. I doubt a *new* COD game (after COD4) costs more than $15 million to make, and then they go and sell over 12 million copies DLC. That's cost-effective right there.
