I think Heavenly Sword really got other devs to sit up and take notice of using motion capture in cinematics but other than that step I'd say Epic are largely responsible for driving the graphics style this gen. The unreal engine has behind so many of this gens huge games that it is impossible to ignore it's influence imo. Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 were very pretty titles with huge amounts of polish but I don't think they've driven other developers on to attain the same standards and they've not contributed to others titles in the way Epic have done with the Unreal engine.

Games have been using Motion Capture in Cinematics years before Heavenly Sword and the PS3 were even thought of. Metal Gear Solid on the PSX is just on example.

They looked crap by comparison, Heavenly Sword was a huge step forward.
