If MS see they need then sure, they'll add it. All companies change their pitch over time. Early on MS argued a console should be all about games and downplayed media use, then happily turned around and pushed the media side of 360.
Sony started out pushing the media side more, realized it was the wrong approach (particularly in the US) and soon started positioning strongly on games.
In the same way if MS see that Kinect needs a Wiimote type element to help it grow they'll happily add one despite the "you are the controller" positioning.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
