I think it's identified as something the right advocates, is it not? An anti-illegal immigrant initiative, if i'm not mistaken, though i rather like the idea myself, merely for effeciency purposes: one national register of all citizens to be identified by local, state, and federal officials all over the country, and can be modified to include if the person is licensed to drive or to hunt or whatever

couldnt social security do that? i mean, id much rather have the ability to give someone my SSN which was already assigned to me rather then getting a barcode inked into my head, an rfid tag embeded into my body, or an rfid based card placed into my wallet.

I'd like this one best, once the tech's there. You could tag so much to a little chip in your body that you wouldn't have to worry about, like house keys or subway fare
