Even Sony can't never get the full potential of the PS3 (and maybe not even be close to it). There are too many processors in the PS3 and is almost impossible to write a complex program (like a game) that can use all at the same time. Trust me guys, I'm a developer and know that nowadays one of the biggest problems in compute science is how to parallelize a program.

Listen to this man,he speaks the pure truth ;).

Thanks!

I would like to add that testing is another huge problem in parallel programs. I mean, when a lot of things are happening at the same time, is almost impossible to predict the program's behavior. So how can I test something that I don't know how to predict it's behavior?

I believe that Sony's next console will have a simple architecture, so the developers could easily code and test their games. This is what Sega did, the Saturn was to complex to the developers but Sega fixed it with the Dreamcast.
