Let me put in plumbers terms.
You need to clean your out your pipes. If you let gunk just sit up in your pipes it gets all nasty. Everyone once in awhile you have to clean em out, a good pressure wash. This cleaning could be administered by yourself or another, if it's been a really long time since you cleaned the pipes you may just want to do it yourself, don't want a nasty surprise if someone else does it for you.
