Putting a stop on ratings so people can't call Nintendo games kiddy seems like a childish solution. Even if most people disregard them they are still there for those parents who do care(minority or not). You can ask Nintendo to make more Mature rated games but don't be surprised when they don't come as that kiddy image definitely helps the console.
Parents like the idea that there is no realistic violence, cursing and gore on Nintendo's system even if it isn't entirely true.
