Your going to be fun. Yes Viva Pinata is doing the right thing. Viva Pinata is shaking things up. What a weird arse game Viva Pinata, though that is for the better, no question. Got great reviews I played it and had fun isnt that we want in a game so i fail to see your criticism for said game... anyway.
Rare founders did jump ship, you know they mainly dont design anymore dont you? Well they didnt for rare, MS managed to keep most of the company in tact and grabbed a few IP's in the process.

Why would Rare have this "Hardcore" image you are dreaming of. I havent seen a lot of people saying Rares games are hardcore, I may be missing something though, I personally wouldnt call Banjo hardcore for example, if anything Hardcore vs Casual are stupid ways to define games, they have always been about being accessible to everyone and they havent changed in this regard.
And these Core gamers you speak of, I would say VGchartz has got quite the bastion of "core gamers" yet it seems to be rather well received on this forum soooo... I am confused. Also Rare is not abandoning their fans, they are simply doing to the 360 what they have done with their games, make them more accessible to everyone, I dont see that as bad personally.
