They broadcast about what is selling like hot cakes and that in turn means it's popular.

Hardcore gamers usually do use forums and stuff a lot more than casual audience.
Can you give the link for the survey if you have? It must have been in US or something cause taking a survey throughout the world is almost impossible. Not everyone is connected to online.
