I saw it at Imax first, and between the visual artstyle and the incredible soundtrack, it was really one hell of an experience, purely from a stylistic point of view. I enjoyed it immensely, despite being in 3D (3D doesn't do much for me, though it does dim the screen), and I couldn't wait to go back.
I saw it in 2D a few days later, and the sound system sucked, so the louder parts of the film blurred together and the bass was weak. I wasn't nearly as impressed.
If you see it under the right conditions, it's an incredible experience. As a general movie, however, it's fairly unimpressive.
