Also note: This is only on Terra and Ven's story so far.

I already beat all 3 stories on critical.  The final bosses and some Vanitas battles were really the only pains in the ass.  Make sure do use guard a lot.  Try to obtain restore Guard/Barrier.  It will be extremely helpful.  This is how you get it:

Curaga plus Guard

Esuna plus Guard

Please remember to have the commands in max level just to be sure.

Lmao, then the best advice I can give you is to grind.  

I beat both storylines, the problem is that I'm just underleveled because I don't want to face enemies that could potentially kill me easily.

You shouldn't be afraid of dying.  Especially on Critical. Face some weaker enemies then and obtain stronger commands.  Once you level up enough, go show them who's boss!!  And how come you haven't beaten Aqua's story yet?  Dammit I want to go back and play this game now....must...resist....FACK!  *goes to play BBS*

That's how I beat the final boss for Terra.
