If you guys are saying beer taste like piss then you are drinking the wrong beer.  Maybe you should try some German or micro brews (Full Sail Pale Ale, ZiegenBock, Warsteiner, etc).  Drinking Coors Light, Miller Light, and Bud Light isn't the best representation of beer (actually probably some of the worse beers).  I drink too much sometimes on the weekends which I plan on cutting back after New Years.  Anyways, when I first tried beer it didn't taste that good at all.  After you age and try some decent brands then you will realize it isn't too bad (actually taste very good with some brands).  Eat a nice cooked steak with a good beer and you are in heaven.  Just stick in the 4-6 beer range and you won't get too drunk.  Once you hit 8-12 on up range that is when things start getting blurry.  I play extremely well at CoD though after a few beers but if I get too drunk then my stats start falling.

Since we are talking about drugs then might as well say Marijuana should be legalized.  You don't swerve when you drive and there are actual studies that say your driving improves when high (  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z5jkYvKscw ).   You can't overdose from it which makes it basically the safest drug there is.  Sure people freak out or have allergic reactions (go to hospital) but they don't die.

Why should I drink? What's the point of it? Does it bring me some sort of benefit? You're talking as if it were a necessity to drink. How has drinking improved your life?

I never said it was a necessity to drink.  I am just saying having a few beers (about 2-4) can be relaxing.  Light drinking helps me play a few games better (mainly FPS).  Drinking hasn't improved my life considerably but it has helped me meet new people, be less shy at parties where I hardly know anyone (I don't really party anymore except with friends), makes family events more fun, etc...  The key word is moderation like most people have stated.  In moderation it isn't that bad.

Beers that you should try would be Full Sail Pale Ale, ZiegenBock (only available in Texas), Warsteiner, Spaten Munich, Dos Equis, and most brands of Hefeweizen and Oktoberfest are good.  Basically it comes down to individual taste.  I prefer mainly ales but I can have semi dark beers here and there.  The cheaper the beer usually means the cheaper the taste.  Most good beers you have to pay a little more for.  However, price doesn't always mean quality but in most cases it does.
