There are a few trends that I think you missed ...
1) The action and interaction in videogames has been steadily moving from being entirely in the digital space to taking place within the real world. This is not only from devices like the Eye-Toy and Kinect, but also includes the Guitar Hero/Rockband games, Wii Fit, and even certain interactions with games like Wii Party. As Audio/Visual projectors and Cameras become smaller, less expensive and higher quality (and the development or adaptation of devices that are difficult to anticipate) games will be less and less confined to action that happens "on screen".
2) Gaming expanding further into interactive entertainment. Between fitness games, lanugage training, art instruction, and cooking aids videogames have really gone beyond being toys and this trend will continue. I wouldn't be surprised if there are interactive experiences designed to improve performance in school at all levels in the not too distant future.
