Just look at Ninja Theory and Enslaved. It's barely broken 300k across two platforms three months since release. By going multiplatform Ninja Theory had to license a new engine and expand development to a second platform, meanwhile their product was released to less sales and less fanfare than Heavenly Sword, even though it is by all accounts a better game. |
Agreed and I surely hope Sucker Punch won't go that route, inFamous is by far one of my favorite game. This expansion makes me think they are going to be first party soon and I really hope so, that would probably make things easier for them and maybe produce more stuff at same time (one big game some nice DLC or even a smaller PSN game).
It's kinda sad to see the case of Ninja Theory, they weren't ready - imo - to step up and do commercial success basically by their own. Staying with Sony (or moving to MS or Nintendo) would probably be better, these publishers would surely supported better and Ninja Theory wouldn't waste time and money on another platform.
