When Naughty Dog first revealed Uncharted: Drake's Fortune to gamers at E3 many years ago, the game was immediately dubbed as a Tomb Raider title featuring a male lead character. Once Uncharted released, everyone realized that wasn't the case and that Uncharted wasn't a clone of Tomb Raider in any way, shape, or form. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was met with solid reviews, but Uncharted 2: Among Thieves put the series on a whole new level.

Karl Stewart of Crystal Dynamics has been answering questions on Twitter about the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot. Earlier in the evening we asked Karl if Naughty Dog's Uncharted series had any influence on the new vision for Tomb Raider. His reply may surprise you.

"Uncharted influences everyone's game not just Tomb Raider. How can it not? You don't get better then 30+ game of the years."

We then followed up with:

"Uncharted certainly is a marvel. Is the new vision for Tomb Raider and game mechanics a result of Uncharted or [is it] unrelated to Uncharted's success?"

Karl responded with a statement that may get gamers even more interested in the Tomb Raider reboot.

"You're going to have to wait and see dude :) Too early to get into specifics."

As Uncharted was compared to Tomb Raider, now the new Tomb Raider shall be compared to Uncharted. With each franchise being handled by incredibly skilled development teams, the true winners will be the gamers. Crystal Dynamics have crafted some great Tomb Raider entries, but their last project, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light; they have secured their names in the minds of gamers worldwide. After seeing what they created with Guardian of Light, a full-scale Tomb Raider title should be nothing less than amazing.

Interesting... what does this all mean exactly!? Are we going to see a major boob reduction and half tuck? Maybe a good narrative this time? Hopefully only that last part... and maybe half tuck
