The situation is getting pretty out of hand when you're seeing tons of lobbies popping up with X1 races and almost no one is able to drive them. I mean, I went into one of those lobbies, Le Mans with change time/weather, 5 laps and 15 other X1's. I won the race with more than 1:25 minutes advantage.

It's a pretty similar situation to what happened in Diablo II LOD, before version 1.12b, where everyone and their mothers were having tons of Buriza's, Enigma's, Shackos and everything else and we're roaming around on PVP using them like crap and getting owned by DII vets. That's why bots became prevalent on DII before the ladder reset in 1.12b.

Heck, there are people on ebay already selling X1's for other people's accounts http://cgi.ebay.com/Gran-Turismo-5-RED-BULL-X1-RACE-CAR-VETTEL-X2010-DLC-/290515985793?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a41a2581#ht_500wt_1156. This is all too similar to what happens in mmo's, on sites like http://d2items.com/ and so on. When it becomes an issue of cash or connections rather than skill, it devalues the meaning of the actual item, in this case, the cars in GT5.

At some point, cars like the P330 and Mark IV, etc, had value like the X1. 20 million credits is definitely not cheap. Then the birthday exploit came along and ruined that. You say you have no issue with those being passed around but I'm pretty sure those who were dedicated enough to buy the cars themselves weren't happy one bit when everyone and their dog starting getting one.

This is the same thing you're feeling right now:  you worked hard for the car, now tons of retards that can't even drive it have one now. You're obviously bothered by it. The point I'm getting at:  you don't care that some historic cars are being passed around like hookers. Should those same people care that your X1 is now in the same position? 

When it comes to X1's being playable online, that's another issue itself. Even before the duping started, PD should've known that anyone that got the car would take it online to dominate unrestricted races. There should've been an option specifically to disallow X1's.

The problem still isn't comparable an mmo. It's a completely different situation. People duping X1's isn't changing the way you race and play. I'm almost completely sure that PD knew this would be a side effect of backup saves. The possibility of duping cars was popping up in everyone's minds before the patch was even out. The Ebay thing doesn't mean anything - people sell everything they possibily can on there.

It's really just a matter of waiting to see if PD is gonna let it go on, or do somethin to fix it.

You missunderstand me, it's not that I don't value those cars, especially since I've yet to get any of them except the rewarded XJ13 (I will farm Cr for them). I was talking more on the skill that it takes to use them.

I worked hard to get the X1, that's true, probably more than most people will work to get the X1, but that's not my main issue with the current duping method. If you see clearly, I also talked about the Formula cars, which I also failed to mention the FGT in that lot.

Most people that are duping these cars, the X1, the F2007, the F2010 and the FGT are using them to both break the online and to fast forward their careers in SP. If you look at the threads in GTP you'll see tons of dupers admitting that they're asking for FGT's or X1's to use them in every tournament, endurance and so on that they can, in order to completely take off the challenge of the game. 

Besides the SP part, online is being slowly screwed up, because in X1 lobbies there's no competition. Previously to 1.05, the very rare X1 lobbies were actually good to compete and people actually had skill with the car. Now, you don't know if you're going to wind up with a bunch of people who never used the X1 before and that their sole purpouse in the race is to screw you over.

If that's not changing the way the game is played, then I don't know what is. Using an X1 to win a Sunday cup is pretty much the definition of broken, just like using over-powered items in mmo's.
