Gaming - Pick My Next Game - View Post

Fact: I already have more games than I can play.

I'm probably trying to finish about ten different games, right now.  Maybe I should just save my money BUT my sister gave me a Gamestop gift card worth the price of one free video game.  If they're still having a "Buy Two Get One Free Deal" like I saw online, I may just get three more.  Problem is, I don't know exactly what I want.  I'm kinda Luke Warm about all of these titles.  But here's  the arguement for each of them:

  • Vanquish:  A game I was really hyped for until I found out it was really short.  I did enjoy Enslaved despite its short length so I think I'll get my money's worth out of Vanquish.  Plus, the short length means I may actually finish it.  And for the low, low price of FREE, I won't feel ripped off.
  • Star Ocean:  The Last Hope:  Soriku made a thread about some JRPG that made me REALLY want a new JRPG.  I did some research, and despite the awesome reviews for Tales of Vesperia, the JRPG women wern't hot enough.  Star Ocean Internationla wins out.  Problem is, when I play a JRPG and get into it, I don't play anything else.  Should I commit to that right now?  PS3 version is only $17 and offers more content than the 360 version.  Anybody play Folklore or White Knight Chronicles?  I was debating them, too.
  • Castlevania Lords of Shadow:  A game I really wanted to see succeed.  Is the story good?  I already know the production values are great.  I didn't really like the demo but then again, I didn't like the God of War 3 demo and I wound up loving that game (and I STILL need to finish GoW3--just got all three games in the series a few weeks ago).  Is it worthy of purchase?
  • Red Dead Redemption:  I didn't really enjoy Grand Theft Auto 4.  Did Rockstar regain their mojo?  I've read reviews and this game looks like the second coming--but I just can't muster any excitement for it.  Maybe that will change if I actually played it.  I really liked GUN on the PS2 and this looks like an improved version of that game.  Anybody?
  •  New Super Mario Bros. :  Got this game on day one and my kid lost it (after I completed 100% of the objectives, too!).  Should I just stick with the sure thing or try something new?  We did just buy a brand new DSi.  It would be ashamed if it didn't get to taste greatness......
  •  Donkey Kong Country Returns:  Another game that I know I should Really want but I'm just not as excited as I should be.  Is it as frustrating as they say?  It lacks sexy women (which is a plus in any of these games).  I've played and beaten every other Donkey Kong.  How does this stack up?

Or should I just save my card for some of the PS3 exclusives coming out in 2011?  There are too many great games coming out in 2011 for the PS3.  *Shakes fist* Curse you Sony for making us buy so many great games!  We're all gonna go broke buying all of these great games!!

I hate being "that guy" that can't pick out his own games.  I just can't decide.  Maybe I'll get three if Gamestop or somebody has a deal going on.  And whatever I get, I'm getting in the next six hours.
