I'm a huge fan of the Socom games.

I had a coworker talk every day about an online pc game called Counter Strike. It sounded great but I was never big into playing games with a mouse.

When the first Socom came out I heard about the hole online part of it and I got really interested in getting my PS2 online. So I went out and bought a PS2 network adapter and bought the game. I was hooked.

When Socom 2 came out I was there on day one. It took everything from Socom 1, made it better, and added maps. Along with that there was rumors that Sony would come out with map packs, but to get them you had to have the PS2 HDD. So of course I spent the $100 on the final fantasy / 20gb HDD and waited for the map packs to start rolling in. In the end Socom 2 had three maps and the only way to get them was to buy there $10 magazine, one map per demo disc.

When Socom 3 came out they went from 16 players to 32 players, with bigger maps, and vehicles. It also had all new maps. There was no Socom 1 or 2 maps in the Socom 3 game. Playing the 32 player maps was fun for the first three days and then everyone went back to the 16 player smaller maps, I fallowed and was vary happy. In the end Socom 3 had three maps that you could download for $6, the thing was that they were the same maps that were on Socom 2's map packs (no regular Socom 1 or 2 maps).

When Socom CA came out it ended up just being a $50 map pack of Socom 3, adding around ten new maps (still no Socom 1 or 2 regular maps).

When I seen info on the new Socom Confrontation my head started spinning. As I was downloading the videos of the new game I was reading what was in store for Socom. Well, read it yourself and tell me what you think. I have some opinions but I want to hear some of yours first.
