Marijuana is less addictive than alcohol and nicotine (which is in tabacco). Also, marijuana doesn't cause cancer, smoking causes cancer (in other words the way you administer he substance is dangerous, not the substance itself). Alcohol is much more dangerous than marijuana, and that's been legal and encouraged for centuries.

I got the same speech at an anti-drug class in high school. Most of them are overexaggerated (full info not being revealed) and are side effects also present after consuming alcohol or smoking tabacco ciggarets.

The addiction side effect is a flat out lie, as marijuana has been found to be less addictive than both alcohol and nicotine (which is actually twice as addicitve as marijuana).
