I have both. Prefer the first by miles.
I finished NMH2 and I don't remember the name of a single boss (except Destroyman of course 
), while I remember the name of every boss in the first. That's how engaging and interesting the first one was. 2nd was meh. Better gameplay and graphics, but boring overall. -_-
