You apparently weren't around here in 2006....

I don't get how anyone in their right mind could have called Lair or Heavenly Sword a "PS3 savoir" though. Like how could a lame-ass dragon riding game be a system seller?

The only games I would have truly called/predicted to be system sellers would be MGS4, GT5, GTA4, FF13 and maybe God of War 3. Nothing else really makes sense.

Heavenly Sword was the most promising PS3 game shown at E3 2006 as Motorstorm's graphics couldn't live up to the trailer of 2005 and Killzone 2 was completely absent. Uncharted wasn't playable at that time and had only a trailer.

Lair was hyped for its graphics and how it would make use of the Cell. Basically it would be the game to put the 360 to shame and show how true next gen games have to look like.

Fair enough. I didn't have a PS3 till Spring 2007 so I can't speak much for 2006. PS3 really did have no games at launch if Lair and Heavenly Sword were supposed to compete with Gears of War and Halo 3.
