As a guy who prefers HD games, I agree with you. The amount of violence in games is rediculous-- is it really that fun to dismember humans? I couldn't stand GTA, or really any game where you are forced to hurt innocent people.

That said, you're argument ends in immaturity. If you think that the PS3 and 360 only survive on horribly graphic games you're as ill informed as the developers who think blood and guts makes a game fun. Try playing games like LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo 5, or Tales of Vesperia. Incredible games, barely a hint of violence in each, and not a drop of blood. Unless animated wolfs are against the rules, in which case rule out the intro of ToV. Though you are correct that if you want a system without any chance of graphic violence, you'll want a Wii. Oh wait, I forgot about Madworld. And Dead Space Extraction. And House of the Dead. And Goldeneye.  And Red Steel. And etc.

Now that thats out of the way, I agree that putting in gratutious amounts of blood in games for the sake of having blood in games does nothing for me. I loved the gameplay and ambience in Dead Space, but did they really need to show people's heads getting blown off by aliens? I would've been fine blowing aliens heads off myself, thank you very much.

It was cute back when it was in 32-bit. Now it's unneccesary to go over-the-top. Still, theres something to be said for ratings for children-- the violence in MW2 bugs me as far as human-vs-human conflict. Things like Halo showing alien blood doesn't bother me. Gears of War 3 is getting a bit too far for me. IMO for damage control.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
