A much better effort than I expected, but no. THe thing about the first list is that it doesn't actually pit JRPGs against each othe rin particular, and progressing the furthest of any JRPG isn't the same thing as being the most well-loved wthin a given demographic.

All of the lists have the problem of being opt-in and thus inherently non-representative of larger populations.

The third list doesn't support you at all.

An appeal to authority for an authority that doesn't exist in any meaningful way (and no, none of these are representative) is less-than-useless. Don't go about making claims of the tastes of the majority unless you have indicators that are well and truly indisputable.

Are you serious? It's a known fact that FFX is almost guaranteed to end up on the top 5 of any list it's put in.

I understand that you are not very fond of FFX, but the reality of it is, ALOT of people are. There's a reason why it ended up becoming the first FF game with a direct sequal to it.

Your first paragraph is both a weak argument ("it is known" is one of the worst argumentative modes there is) and factually incorrect besides. You will find many, many dozens of "best of all time" lists where it is not in the top five.

I do not dispute that many people are fond of FFX. I dispute two assertions. 1, that FFX is the best-loved JRPG of all time (it is not, under either definition of that phrase). 2, that FFX being well-loved somehow negates people's ability to be dissatisfied with it.
