But I'm not going to be mean and tell her that I hate the gifts. I say thanks and then ask her why she got me them. Its Christmas for crying out loud a time for family friends and giving. The way I see it, its about giving not recieving so if people love my gifts I give then it doesn't really matter what I get.

Not to mention I guess its the thought that counts. She puts alot of thought into these gifts. Its just I don't use them and couldn't care less for them.

Seriosuly though, presents are suppose to be sonething fun that you know the person wants. They're not suppose to be somnething the person necessarily "needs" (unless they need it really bad and can't get it otherwise). And considering you don't even like going camping, a sleeping bag is about as useful as prenatal vitamins. I actually wonder if she really puts any thought into those presents.

She should come next year to my workshop ("Buying the Right Christmas Present"). It's only 100 Euros/session and at the end you get a diploma and a T-shirt with a picture of yours truly.
