Okay, people really don't seem to get this; look at Wii's list of most popular games - you'll have to go to #8 to find Brawl, a game with fairly cartoonish violence rated T/12 and the first Mature game you'll find is Resident Evil 4, at #38, with not many more to follow. Now, looking at either PS3 or 360's lists, you'll find the most popular game to be MW2, a M/18 game with graphic violence and most of the other games are similarly violent.

If a kid goes to look for a game, he or she is far more likely to find a game inappropriate for his or her age on the PS3 or 360. And, honestly, being a kid myself, I know that most either disregard age ratings or are attracted to games simply because of a Mature or 18 label. When they own a PS3 or 360, their friends and Amazon will suggest CoD and they'll buy it, when they own a Wii, they'll be suggested NSMB and they'll buy it instead.

Oh, and Mummelmann, you're not seriously trying to justify violent behaviour by looking at worse stuff through the ages, are you? Sure, we can all say "oh, look, we used to have so much violence back then, a little terrorism today won't hurt", but that's a pathetic excuse. If something can be better, we might as well make it so.
