The cake is a lie. I spent my entire life looking for the fabled cake, travelling from kitchen to kitchen, from cafe to cafe and the cake was nowhere. There were feeble imitations yes, but those frauds are nothing upon the cake, the one and only cake, the one cake to rule them all.
