Why on earth would they put HD-DVD in the nextBox, it has less space than Blu ray and they dont make films on hd-dvd anymore, consoles are now in an era where there pushing thereselves as media hubs not just gaming machines.
MS will either go diskless or with blu-ray. Disk-less would be a big gamble though as 40% of current gen aren't connected to the internet and of the 60% that are god knows if there download speeds and fair-usage policies are up to massive data consumption.
Wii doesn't even play DVD films so possibly Nintendo still wont be interested in the media hub element and will opt again for a proprietary format.
