That is a lot of dough for a bottle of Scotch. In Cali, we have BevMo! the Wal-Mart of liquor stores and BevMo! sells 18 yr Macallan for around $150 online. Is the older Scotch better than the younger? |
That's about what it is here, though I found it on sell so I got it for about $130 which is still a lot but it was for my birthday.
And yes, the older the scotch, the better it is. I've had the 12, 15, 18, and 25 year Macallan and they're all amazing and only get better with age. The barrel they're matured in also has a lot to do with how they taste. I'm a giant Macallan whore so that's generally what I stick to but I only like the ones aged in the sherry oak barrels, not the fine oak.
