Yeah I've golded all the AMG events. For dry events, I used nothing but ABS 1; TCS and ASM both kill your speed. Even then, the full lap intermediate was difficult, after 9 hours i managed a 7:04, but my game froze, then a few tries later I got a 7:03.
For wet, I believe I used ABS 1 and TCS 2. I used ASM in the beginning because of how slippery it was, but it was dragging down my times way too much. For example, in the SLS AMG on sector 1, the 2 turn (gentle right hander on slight downslope), with ASM off I can take it 92 - 95. ASM on I can't do more than 84-ish.
For the wet events, the hardest were advanced sector 1 (first exposure ever to wet driving) and expert sector 4 (way too easy to lose control). Both took a few hours. The full laps were the easiest; advanced full lap first try, expert full lap 2nd try. Like I said, I think they give you a significantly better tuned car for these.
