Its going to break most probably.

It happened to me, what I did was bang on the top slightly, however this method will only work for two-three months and your system WILL fail eventually, this is almost guaranteed, its a fault with the DVD drive.

Changing the DVD drive should help but its very complicated and you lose your warranty completely. So, send it to MS as fast as you can, especially if you haven't lost the warranty yet.

If you don't have the warranty, you should try fixing it yourself. There are many youtube videos about it, you can follow them if you like.

EDIT: I see you have the warranty. Use it. This problem has got nothing to do with the HDD.
