As someone already mentioned on this thread, yes, you do need to reformat the hard drive that was on your old laptop before adding it to your PS3. My mind is a bit fuzzy at the moment, but how would you actually reformat a hard drive on a computer that doesn't work? Or could you put the hard drive into another computer and then reformat that?

And another thing, could Sony add a firmware to make the PS3 to use 300GB? Just a thought to even it out in the hundreds. Wouldn't hurt.
