Not really no, Kinect is a minor advancement on the pseye so minor Sony passed it up in favor of move, which is effectively capable of everything Kinect is and a ton of stuff it isn't, if you plan on waiting for better games to come out for kinect you'll be waiting a very long time since they aren't going to come what you see is what kinect is capable of, alot of people disagree but I ask you this, where are the tech demos? Move has like 4 of them, showing what it can be capable of, ps3 had a ton aswell and even the 360 had a few, if kinect was capable of something more MS would have gave us a glimpse by now, but it's not so they are just pretending it is, anyways it's your call but the tech isn't that impressive MS is just marketing it well

try looking around the internet for what people have done with hacked kinects. The device is capable of TONS of stuff. There are some pretty incredible things people are doing with kinect. Sony saying they passed on the kinect is just marketing mumbo jumbo. They didn't want to take the risk and they are probably kicking themselves now.
OT: I have a kinect, and I really like it. Although, I will admit that a lot of my enjoyment is coming from the wow factor of the new technology (not so much the games actually being all that fun). The games aren't very good to play by yourself, but are great for party's and the great thing about them is the accessibility for non-gamers (people that have never played a video game in their life). The wii did a pretty good job about opening that door, but not in the same way that kinect can. For example, I had my 92 year old grandma playing dance central on thanksgiving to the lady gaga song pokerface. Needless to say, those pictures are being saved! :)

They haven't done anything amazing, most of the stuff you could do with a pseye, kinect is just more popular so getting more hacks, public perception is easily swayed
lol, ok, for the op. This guy really doesn't know what he is talking about, so just ignore him. As that is what I'm going to do starting now
Care to prove me wrong with examples or are you just going to talk out of your ass, maybe it's something I haven't seen but all the hacks I have seen could have been done on pseye
pretty sure you stated that ps eye could do things kinect cant do so the onus is on you, but i will mention something move apparently cant, apparently it cant do dance central. Is this not factual
I said PS MOVE could do things kinect can't, not ps eye, and PS move is getting dance games too, I expect one to play pretty identically to dance central too, if not a complete port they'd have to change around how it's programed though but they could make something effectively the same
So what can pseye Move do that Kinect Joypad couldnt?, and trust me Kinect is alot more advanced the the PSeye or the Eyetoy ever was. i never seen demos being made for the PSeye that can do the things people are doing with kinect.
And you only have to look at the specs to see the differance, so i think you should do a bit of studying before down playing a device so you atleast know what you on about...
Why the hell should I trust you, you're just some guy on a forum who fell for MSes BS, I suggest you do some studying since I've already done mine http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-11-27-sony-why-we-turned-down-kinect-interview
While it is true that kinect is more advanced then a standalone pseye, move gives it a point of reference that makes a 3D camera unneeded to achieve the same amount of tracking, plus with the wand you get perfect precision with any movements move can do anything that needs precision where kinect can't do anything that needs a bit, with move you can actually make your character walk forward or stand still, on a large map, something kinect can't, and with move you can map actions to buttons, again something kinect can't do, well it may not have the same wow factor as flailing your arms around and hoping for the best, for more in-depth games those things are needed, I really can't see any kind of indepth game being played on kinect well
