As far as I know, psp can not be flashed to run homebrew and emulation if above 5.03 firmware.

Once flashed they can support games which require latest firmware, but you can't flashed if they have been upgraded.

Pretty much right, the firmware itself doesn't have anything to do with flashing, it depends on the motherboard in place. 1000s and most 2000s can be flashed, regardless of the firmware. 3000s cannot be flashed period, there are various exploits that allow you to launch a cfw while the system is on, but resets every time it's put into sleep mode or turned off.

Yeah, I was going to post the same thing, obviously not word for word, but y'know, lol. Also, I'm not sure if there's been a work around yet, but the last I heard, the CFW for PSP-3000 can, if you aren't careful, brick your PSP.

If I were you, I'd just stick to being legit and playing proper PSP games, and download a SNES emulator on your PC for these things, lol.

NOOOOO !!!! I wanted UMK3 on my PSP -_-

And people have all these other cool apps developed too :/

Any flashing or exploit use CAN brick your PSP, if you do it wrong. with the 3000s you don't have the option of being able to use a pandora battery to unbrick it, so yes it's a bit more risky. My personal suggestion would be to pick up a 1000 or early 2000 series PSP, the 3000s are nice and all, but if you're interested in emulation you want to pick up something that you can flash, I run several emulators on my PSP and it's great, plus the ability to easily transfer PS1 games to the PSP makes it even better.
