The cpu is overclocked, runs at 3GHz. My bottlneck is gpu and RAM right now. I can't afford a new cpu, gpu, monitor, RAM and motherboard at this time. With a new gpu I'll also need a bigger power supply I'm guessing and hardware isn't exactly cheap here in Norway... My new monitor will run at 1920x1080, its the new Samsung P2770FH! |
You could probably fit anything in the AMD range with your 580W PSU from the 6970 down to the 5450 so long as you have an 8 pin power plug. If you don't have that you could always fit a 6950 which I believe only requires 2* 6 pin power and would leave a lot of breathing room if you wanted to get a high wattage CPU later.
Tease.

I'll probably do the full work-up in the spring and throw in a Quad cpu, replace the motherboard and possibly upgrade to some faster RAM eventually!
