It is pretty insane. The republicans use 9/11 as an excuse for their entire agenda throughout the Bush Administration, then when it's no longer politically expedient, leave the people who have major health complications because of 9/11 high and dry, all to prove a point over tax cuts, which is *itself* hypocritical because their major political win from the last election was bitching about the deficit
So basically they are, twice over, making a stand against two of their own talking points: 9/11 heroes and fiscal responsibility, all so that the millionaires don't have to worry about their tax rates rising 3%
