No, they weren't. Batman Begins was a good movie. The Dark Knight was a good movie. Iron Man was a decent movie. The first two Bourne movies were good. Casino Royale was very good. Quantum of Solace was decent. All popcorn movies that showed how blockbuster movies DON'T HAVE TO SUCK.
The Transformers movies are badly directed (close-ups of giant fighting robots with a blurred camera. yeah, nice.), badly written (no need to even justify this with examples), and badly acted (replace Megan Fox with a cardboard cutout and the movies might actually IMPROVE). On top of that, the stories had mammoth plot holes, half the Transformers were just ridiculous, the humor was completely unfunny, and the entire things were just... a mess.
