I lost 15kg(i think it's a little more than 30pounds) in the last 6 months only doing 3 things:

-Drink A LOT of Water. I'm drinking about 4-5L of water. It helps a lot to control hunger. Your urine needs to be white.

-Change your diet. In the initial phase of my diet i eat a LOT, i was very hungy back then. I still eat almost 1 Carrot per day. Try to eat more in breakfast. The Dinner is the worst part...you have to control what you eat in night, i actually feel hungry in dinner some days.

Are you american ? Try to drink water, not soda. eat cereal bars instead of choco.

- Do aerobic exercise, not anaerobic. It's very difficult to gain muscle while lossing fat. I don't even exercise. I only walk a little everyday. When I exercised I felled so much hungry...

It was very difficult for me. But when you see the results you'll be happy and wanting more. It's about changing habits.  Try to eat slower, and follow what I said. Today I feel less hungry than former.
