Yeah, the SSX formula is so simple it's nearly unbelievable that they keep screwing it up. A game doesn't have to be gritty and realistic to be fun, all it needs is to be over-the-top and stylized. It can still be super HD and all that while keeping that same mood (Rock Band and Dance Central are perfect examples).
They just keep trying to stuff more and more XTREME!!!! in there and it's pushing out all the fun stuff.

Ugh, I mean looking on the games site it talks about you can't get there on foot, battle the elements, and choose the gear that matters.
