MS will almost certainly move first if Kinect drops after the holiday and doesn't have a lasting effect. But why are Sony forced? if Kinect fails, after the holidays your saying that Microsoft are forced into the 720. okay fair enough.
but for the 720 to be a step up over the PS3, it will have to be more powerful and thus more expensive than the PS3. its Microsoft and Nintendo that will have to compete to aquire a new userbase, the PS3 can compete with those new consoles in terms of power, games and price point. why throw this away?
imo if this does happen, PS3 will simple compete with the 720 and Wii2, because the console will still be comparatively the same in power, more powerful than the Wii 2. it already has blu ray which Microsoft dosent endorse, and it will be cheaper. i dont see why this wont end up like the Dreamcast scenario.
