If you like detective stories you can try post mortem, still life and still life 2. (pc) They don't have the same polish as fahrenheit and heavy rain but are pretty good adventure games.

Dreamfall the longest journey has a more sci-fi adventurous style, is very polished and has a great story. It is one of my favourites. It came out in 2006 for pc and xbox. (they should have released it on 360 doh)
