That's not the "truth" , that was just one of the irrationaly high expectations. But the truth is this : GT5 reviews are full of shit, and most reviewers didn't play the game enough and were mindset to cherry-pick and over-critizice before even unwrapping the case.
All of this review bullshit happened in large part due to the game taking 5 years of development, and I want to ask "what is it to you if a game takes 5, 10 or 40 years to be developed? " The only thing you take part in it, it's playing it, whenever it releases doesn't affect that fact at all. Every review made a big deal about the long period of development, and those who didn't you can bet they had it all on their heads too. What's the big deal? would you complain and nitpick less if it was released 2 years ago? would the faults suddenly disappear or be more "understandable"? what's the basis for a review anyway, is it quality/time of development = score or some stupid formula like that? just wtf? And what's with all the reviews complaining about the menus? what a bunch of fags, geeez... It only proves the reviewers were truly overhyped by the game and set expectations insanely high for themselves. A good reviewer shouldn't review based on his feelings or particular tastes or the fact that his or her wet dreams didn't come true. Fuck all GT5 reviews. Yes even the positive ones and the ones scoring a 100, fuck them all.
