I don't think the multiplat decision really helped with the quality of the game. Let's be realistic, there were probably decisions made that we will never know about in dealing with the changing structure of the game from it's original plan so that the disc swaps would work out. I agree with you on the rest. There were many other problems with the game that being exclusive to the PS3 would not remedy. It would have probably still had no real towns / shops, etc. if it was exclusive. Maybe, backtracking would have been easier if it was exclusive, but that's about the only thing I can think of.
OT: I agree with the OP. Many were saying at the time that it was the final nail in the coffin for the PS3, and that really didn't happen. I'm one of the few people who doesn't think any of the consoles are doomed this generation. PSP had arguably the worst performance this gen, but it was the first console to make serious inroads into Nintendo's handheld dominance. Just like the original Xbox, the PSP was successful in one region and lackluster in the rest. |
Yeah maybe some content was cut because of xbox 360. But we'll never know that. The story and everything else would still be a problem. To be honest the biggest problem of the game is given in this developer interview; http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2010/10/exclusive_behind_the_scenes_of_3.php?utm_source=feedburner . Believe it or not only around 1 and a bit years were spent on actual development on the game itself because the demo of the game actually began the main development. Thats the biggest problem, its like a rushed product.
But its all a matter of opinion in the end, many of my friends really liked the game and seeing the thread on it a few days back it seems the game has a very mixed response ranging from great to good to average to terrible.
